The Adventures of Mr. Fry "Swimming In Butter"
submitted 12.22.07
written by Elizabeth Bishop from Ray-South Middle

"Welcome to Shorties. May I take your order?" "I'll  have a hot dog." "Want fries with that?" "Yes please." Once I got my meal I walked over to a table and began eating. The hot dog was burned and the bun was stale. I started eating my fries. Once I was done I sat coloring on a napkin while waiting for my parents to finish eating. I dipped an end of a fry into my sister ketch-up before saying, "Look, it's got hair!" She threw the straw wrapper on my head. "Good Idea!!!" I took and ripped the the straw wrapper into four pieces. I used ketchup to attach them as arms and legs. Everyone was done eating. I put the Fry Guy in the butter dish. As we walked out I saw it swimming, then drowning. I wanted to save it but couldn't go back. I saw the waitress pull it out. She saved Fry guy! I came back in a few months. It was hard not to smile. I pointed to the wall. "Mom, It's fry guy"

Old Man Winters Early Visit - submitted 11.24.07
written by Elizabeth Bishop from Ray-South Middle

Wow. Winter weather has visited us a little early this year. In fact as I write this it's beginning to snow. With the high being only 44° F and the low being 28° Fit shows Old Man Winter is excited about his visit this year. Do you have winter fever this year? If so, I prescribe lots of hot chocolate, sledding, and a snowball fight or two. So far the snow's been packy, perfect for a snowman/woman. Remember to be safe, come in when you get cold and maybe randomly hit your friends with snowballs. Have a fun winter!
